How we rebuilt our website
in one week with Claude.

We rebuilt our entire 83-page website in one week, using Claude Design and a $200 Claude subscription. The previous site took a hired agency eight months and $15,000.

This is the story of how we took our website back, and what it means for a small business thinking about AI.

The challenge

A rebrand touches every page

BluePrint HelpDesk was becoming BluePrintNJ AI. We have served businesses since 2008, mostly as a managed IT provider. Now we were going AI-first, with a new name, a new domain, and a new set of services to explain.

The website had to change with it. That meant more than a new logo. It meant new pages for AI training, adoption, managed AI, automation, and governance. It meant pricing, industry pages, local pages, and a blog. And it meant moving everything to a new domain, blueprintnj.ai.

The old site was built and hosted by a hired web development agency. The build took eight months and cost $15,000. Launch was only the start of the cost:

  • Every change, even a small one, meant an email or a scheduled meeting.
  • Replies took a while, so simple fixes waited in a queue.
  • Each email about a small change was billed at an hourly rate.
  • The agency's interface was outdated, so our team could not easily make changes on its own.

Under that setup, renaming the company alone would have meant a long string of emails and a growing bill. We first tried rebuilding in Webflow, but fought the tool at every step: content edits that did not reach hard-coded elements, layouts that broke on mobile, and style rules where fixing one page broke another. We needed a site we could change ourselves, fast.

Why Claude Design

We tell clients to use AI on their own work first. So we did.

Claude Design lets a person describe a page in plain English and get back a working design. The output is real code we own, not a site only an agency can change. Four things made it the right fit:

ControlThe agency holds the keysWe own every file and can host it anywhere

We are platform-agnostic with clients. We recommend Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT based on what fits the work. Claude fit this job because the work was writing and design, at volume, by one person.

How the build worked

The week went fast because the thinking came first

We locked our positioning and messaging before a single page was designed. Claude had a clear brief to work from, so it was not guessing what the company stood for.

  1. Lock the messageThe positioning line, "Adopt AI safely, practically, and at your pace," and four message pillars were set before the build began.
  2. Map the siteAll 83 pages were planned up front: core pages, pricing, AI services, IT services, 9 industry pages, 15 New Jersey location pages, and 20 blog posts.
  3. Design the core pagesThe homepage and service pages were built first in Claude Design, by describing each section in plain English and refining it in conversation.
  4. Scale the patternsOnce a page type worked, the same layout carried across every industry page, location page, and blog post. One design decision became dozens of consistent pages.
  5. Wire in the tools that capture leadsThe AI readiness quiz, newsletter signup, and Lunch and Learn pages connect to HubSpot.
  6. Review every page as a personEvery claim was read and checked before it went live.

Where AI needed a human

AI made one person fast. It did not make that person optional.

Accuracy of the copy

AI writes confidently, even when it is wrong. In early drafts, copy sometimes described things that sounded good but were not true for us. One example: language implying an in-house engineering team, when our real delivery model works differently. Other drafts reached for founding details and pricing math that needed checking. Every claim was read against the facts before it shipped. That review is the reason the site can be trusted.

Deployment and the domain

Designing pages was the easy part. Getting them live took more care. Moving to a new domain, pointing it at Netlify, and making sure old links still reached the right pages were steps where a mistake costs traffic and trust.

AI handles the volume. People own the judgment. That is what "human in the loop" means in practice.

Going live on Netlify

Plain web files make hosting simple

The finished site is a set of plain web files. We chose Netlify, a hosting service built for exactly this kind of site.

  • Upload and publish. The site files go to Netlify, and Netlify puts them online.
  • Connect the domain. blueprintnj.ai points to Netlify, and the site is served securely over HTTPS.
  • Keep old links working. Redirects send visitors from old addresses to the right new pages.
  • Update in minutes. A change made with Claude goes live with a fresh upload. No waiting on a developer.

Because we own the files, we are never locked in. If a better host comes along, the site moves with it.

Results

Live in one week, for a fraction of the old cost

  • About 35 times faster. One week, against eight months for the agency build.
  • A $200 subscription instead of a $15,000 build.
  • No more hourly bills for small changes. Edits that used to need an email, a wait, and an invoice now take minutes.
  • 83 pages, one voice. Every page carries the same message and the same brand, because the same brief drove all of them.
  • Built to capture leads. Every page routes visitors to the AI readiness quiz or the newsletter.

What this means for your business

It was not magic. It followed three rules any business can use.

Most business owners know AI matters. Almost none know where to start. This project is a good place to look.

01Start with real workPick a job that costs you time or money today, like a website, a proposal, or a weekly report.
02Get clear before you get fastAI moves at the speed of your brief. Know what you want to say first.
03Keep a person on every claimAI does the volume. Your team checks the facts.

We teach from experience, not slides. The tools that built this website are the same ones we use in our own operations every day, and the same ones we help clients adopt safely, practically, and at their pace.

We also know what it feels like to wait on a vendor. Slow replies and a bill for every small fix are exactly what we refuse to put our own clients through. That is why we respond within 10 minutes and resolve issues the same day, unless they are complex, and then we give a clear timeline.
